Royal Opera of Versailles
L’Opéra Royal du Château de Versailles is the main theater and opera house of the Palace of Versailles and represents one of the finest 18th century opera houses in Europe. The Royal Opera of Versailles was inaugurated in May 1770 in celebration of the marriage of Louis XVI to Marie Antoinette and since then, it has undergone considerable restoration. Since reopening its doors in September 2009, it has been regularly housing world-class opera, ballet, and concert performances.
