Kyiv Academic Young Spectators Theater on Lypki
The Kyiv Academic Young Spectators Theater is the capital's only drama theater for children. It was founded in 1924 by local theater actors Oleksandr Salamarsky and Irina Dyeva. The theater’s mission is to create content that is relevant to and interesting for the children of today, using digitalisation and new technologies. At the same time, it aims to remain an elitist art form and have an aesthetic and spiritual function. Currently, the theater’s repertoire predominantly consists of performances that are suitable for children and family viewing, with its evening performances best suited for adult audiences. Since 2021, the theater company’s artistic director has been theater manager and director, Honored Artist of Ukraine, V'yacheslav Zhyla.
